Service Level Agreement Explanation

SLA is synonymous with Service Level Agreement,It is a legally binding agreement between Business and its service provider. It contains a list of the services offered by the provider, as well as inclusions, exclusions and exceptions. It also contains KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure penalties applicable when service levels are not met. It is an integral part of every contract – must be carefully designed and agreed upon by sellers and partners. Service level credits or simply service credits should be the only corrective action available to customers to compensate for service level outages. A service credit deducts an amount from the total amount payable under the contract if the service provider does not meet performance and performance standards. Whether you use a service provider for your broadband, your private IP network, a managed firewall, support support or a cloud computing platform, any service provided by a third party is an independent service. This means that each service does need its own ALS with its own terms of use plus metrics negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
